Mo Yan to teach at alma mater  

莫言受聘北師大教授 強調自己仍是農村作家

中國首位諾貝爾文學獎得主莫言22日傍晚現身北京師范大學，受聘為該校文學院教授。莫言說，希望不久的將來，中國作家能再次登上瑞典的領獎臺。

Beijing (CNS) – Beijing Normal University, which has hired Nobel laureate Mo Yan as a literature professor, held a welcoming ceremony for the author on Tuesday.

Mo was granted a master's degree in literature and arts from the university in 1991.

Speaking at the ceremony, where he was issued an employment certificate, Mo recalled his poor performance at the college. He said he was "ashamed" because he hadn't studied hard, and that his graduation was due to generous grading by professors.

He also expressed worry about his eloquence as a public speaker.
