Beijing (CNS)-- A total of 1,500 projects aimed at alleviating traffic congestion will be implemented in Beijing starting this year, according to the Beijing Municipal Committee of Transportation on Sunday.
These transit-friendly projects will include the improvement of street planning, the establishment of harbor stations for buses, and the clearance of barricades on roads, the committee said, adding that most of the projects are designed for bustling areas of the city.
Building projects located in downtown areas will adopt nighttime construction schedules to ensure normal service of public transportation during daytime hours, according to the committee.
