Sacked official probed for owning 29 houses

記者4日下午從鄭州市二七區委宣傳部獲悉，該區房管局原局長翟振峰一家被曝擁有29套房產，鄭州市檢察院已于2013年1月4日正式決定依法對翟振鋒立案查處，并將適時向社會公布查處結果。

Zhengzhou (CNS) -- A former housing official in the capital of central China's Henan Province is under investigation for owning too much property, the local publicity office said Friday.

A preliminary probe by the district government confirmed that Zhai Zhenfeng, the former director of the housing administration bureau of Zhengzhou's Erqi District, had broken the law by illegally owning 29 houses.

A whistle-blower said last week that Zhai's daughter alone owned 11 houses in Zhengzhou.

Zhai was expelled from the Communist Party and removed from his post in September 2011 for disciplinary offences, including seeking profits for his family, reports said.
