中央經濟工作會議16日在北京閉幕。會議提出，要堅持社會主義市場經濟的改革方向不動搖，以更大的政治勇氣和智慧推動下一步改革。

Beijing (CNS) -- China will uphold and promote market-oriented economic reform with "greater political courage and wisdom," according to the two-day central economic work conference which concluded Sunday.

A statement issued after the conference said the country will promote all-round economic reform by transforming the development pattern and restructuring the national economy to achieve steady growth.

While effectively implementing measures that have already been announced, new measures should be introduced in a timely way to solve outstanding contradictions, it said.

In-depth research and studies should be done to improve the top-level design and general plan for China's reforms, and a clear overall scheme, road map and timetable should be made, it said.

People's initiatives, practices and creativity should be respected in the course of reform, and bold exploration should be encouraged, it also said.
