Gov’t meeting stresses frugality, urbanization  

中國要求各級政府厲行節約 “把錢用在刀刃上”

為期兩天的中央經濟工作會議16日在京落幕。會議對明年的財政政策作出部署，強調各級政府要厲行節約，嚴格控制一般性支出，把錢用在刀刃上。

Beijing (CNS) -- Governments at various levels are urged to strictly control their budgets and make every penny count, according to the Central Economic Work Conference that concluded Sunday in Beijing.

The focus should be hard work and frugality, not extravagance and waste, the conference determined.

The meeting also emphasized urbanization, a main driver for domestic demand that will be actively pushed forward in 2013.

Governments at all levels should focus on domestic consumption and improving the quality of life of China's citizens.
