12月6日中午，2012年諾貝爾文學獎得主莫言在瑞典學院出席諾獎得主新聞發布會，這是得獎后的他在斯德哥爾摩的首次公開亮相。

Stockholm (CNS) -- Nobel Laureate Mo Yan fielded questions at a press conference in Stockholm on Thursday.

When asked about his personal friendship with Goran Malmqvist, Mo said their friendship was "limited to three cigarettes."

Swedish media have doubted the fairness of Mo Yan's winning the prize, saying his success was due to his personal friendship with Malmqvist, a senior judge for the Nobel Literature Prize.

I only met Goran Malmqvist three times, Mo said. The first time was in Hong Kong, when I gave him a cigarette. The second was in Taiwan, where he gave me a cigarette. The third time was in Beijing, where I gave him a cigarette again. Our friendship is all about three cigarettes, and he still owes me one, added Mo.

Mo said his Nobel lecture, which took him two days to write, will focus on "talking about myself" and "talking about the truth."
