Jilin (CNS) -- As a frosty wonder appeared Wednesday morning on the banks of the Songhua River, local authorities immediately announced that northeast China's Jilin City had entered its season of soft rime.
The 18th Jilin International Soft Rime and Snow-Ice Tourism Festival runs till February 28, offering dozens of activities to domestic and international tourists, including dragon boat racing, winter swimming, bikini skiing, a snow-ice spa and folk performances.
It's hard to book rooms in the city's hotels now as it's high tourism season, said Wang Deshun, director of the local tourism bureau.
Winter tourism revenue has seen annual growth of more than 25 percent here in recent years, he added.
