Wuxi (CNS) -- An original-scale replica of the Palace Museum located in China's "richest" village welcomed its first batch of tourists on Thursday.
The Huaxi Art Museum consists of several replicas of historic buildings in the Forbidden City, including the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Palace of Heavenly Purity, Donghua Gate and the Turret of the Palace Museum.
Thousands of cultural relics including paintings, calligraphies, ancient ceramics and carved jades are also on display.
Located in Jiangsu Province, replicas of Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall and the Confucius Temple can be found in the World Park of Huaxi Village, known as a "model socialist village."
Wu Xie'en, the village chief, said that investments in the past few years have brought substantial profits and more than two million tourists annually.
