Kuala Lumpur (CNS) -- China is Malaysia's largest trade partner and Malaysia is China's largest trade partner in Southeast Asia, said Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, Malaysia's Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, on Tuesday.
From January to August, bilateral trade volume between the two countries hit 118.3 billion ringgit (nearly US$39.43 billion), a year-on-year growth of 10.5 percent, said the deputy minister.
As of 2011, about 133 Chinese manufacturers have planned to set up factories in Malaysia, 14 of which gained approval from the government from January to July this year, he added.
