Be ‘rational’ about nuclear power, says expert  

核電業者：風險認識是當前影響中國核電發展主因

中國廣東核電集團(中廣核)運營公司總經理蘇圣兵18日在2012年中國高新技術論壇上表示，政府、行業、媒體、公眾應理性地認識核電安全風險，“認識”好比是十字路口的“紅綠燈”，是當前影響中國核電發展的關鍵因素。

Shenzhen (CNS) -- The government, the nuclear power industry, the media and the public should be rational about the safety risks posed by nuclear power plants, said an industry expert on Sunday.

Nuclear power has faced a tough time since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, but nuclear safety and protection measures against natural disasters have been enhanced, Su Shengbing, from China Guangdong Nuclear Power, said during the China Hi-Tech Fair 2012 in Shenzhen.

At present, nuclear power only accounts for two percent of China's total power output, far below the world average, he added.
