Restoration wraps at largest imperial theater  

德和園大戲樓今亮新顏 將恢復至光緒時期最好面貌

21日，隨著金龍和璽彩畫的最后一筆收筆，中國現存保存最完整、建筑規模最大的皇家戲樓——德和園大戲樓亮出新顏。依照清光緒時期重繪的各式彩畫紋樣和璽彩畫，也使這座歷經百年的古戲樓恢復了皇家戲樓原本的雄偉與韻味。

Beijing (CNS) –– Restoration of the Grand Theater Building in Dehe Yuan (Garden of Virtue and Harmony) was completed on Sunday.

Situated in the Summer Palace, it was the biggest of the three main theaters in operation during the Qing Dynasty, and comprises a three-story stage and a two-story building for dressing rooms and makeup.

Construction of Dehe Yuan began in the 17th year of Emperor Guangxu's reign (1891), after which it witnessed the summit of Peking Opera.

This restoration of Dehe Yuan started on October 10 and will be completed by the end of November. Its last restoration was in 1955.
