Beijing (CNS) – China's GDP will rebound in the fourth quarter of this year with a growth of 8.2 percent, Cao Yuanzheng, chief economist at the Bank of China, predicted on Monday.
The figure is optimistic, Cao said, adding that China's economy has touched the bottom but still lacks strength to rebound.
In the past three months great effort was put into infrastructure investment, and consumption also rose, brightening some antecedent indexes, said Cao.
Both periodical and structural economic factors contributed to this round of economic growth, and the GDP may fall next year even if it achieves the growth of 8.2 percent in the fourth quarter, Cao added.
Long-term economic policy should be combined with short-term policies, and financial reform is necessary, he said.
