Hefei (CNS) -- A group of college students from all over the world are participating in a summer camp in Anhui Province that includes lessons in Tai Chi, Kung Fu, tea ceremonies and Chinese cooking.
The 44 students have come from Stanford University, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to join the Stanford-USTC-MIT (SUM) 2012.
Australian James Matthew Deeks, 24, who is learning Chinese, expressed confusion about the language, but said he is enjoying learning martial arts.
Unlike Deeks, 29-year-old S. Ahmad Zamanian from MIT said he is more interested in Chinese food, especially dumplings, fish and chestnuts.
The camp's objective is to promote friendship and academic and cultural exchanges among students, according to the organizer.
It closes on Sept 23.
