Handan (CNS) – A unique group of ancient tombs has been discovered in Handan, a prefecture-level city in Hebei Province, according to the Handan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology on Thursday.
The find includes 97 tombs and more than 210 relics which have been cleaned up since April, said Wang Xing, chief of the institute.
Tombs from three periods – the Warring States Period, the Han Dynasty, and the Wei and Jin Dynasties – are layered according to the timeline, which is rarely seen, Wang added.
The relics mostly include earthenware found in tombs from the Warring States Period and Han Dynasty. The tombs of the Wei and Jin Dynasties had been robbed and little was left in them, said Wang.
