Los Angeles (CNS) – Nearly 100 films will be screened during the 8th Chinese American Film Festival, surpassing the number at previous ones, the festival's organizing committee announced Wednesday at a press conference.
The festival has also attracted the most Chinese film companies, including the China Film Group Corporation, the Shanghai Film Group Corporation and more than 10 others.
The China Film Association will also participate, said Su Taofen, chairman of the festival.
The first batch of films to be screened includes features like "The Flowers of War" directed by Zhang Yimou and "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate" directed by Tsui Hark. Documentaries will include "Potala Palace" and "Yuan Ming Yuan."
Recent years have seen more and more cooperation and exchange between the Chinese and American film industries, and this festival will take it to a new level, said Deputy Consul General of China Sun Weide.
The festival will last a month starting from October 24.
