廣州市政府12日宣布，本周六將組織代號為“羊城天盾-2012”城市人民防空演習。
Guangzhou (CNS) -- The capital city of Guangdong Province will conduct a civil air defense drill this Saturday, which is National Defense Education Day, the city government announced Wednesday.
Guangzhou Vice Mayor Wang Dong will be general commander of the operation, said Huang Songshan, deputy director of the city's Air Defense Office.
The drill will involve 2,000 people from communities, schools and hospitals in seven urban districts, Huang added. Participants will set up command posts, build inter-connectivity among different sites, run an air alarm test, handle the aftermath of an air raid and administer real-time medical aid.
Huang said it is the first time for the drill to be conducted with information and resource sharing.
