Dunhuang institute lures foreign experts  

蘭州大學(xué)與境外多個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)合作研究“敦煌學(xué)”

敦煌學(xué)已成為一門國(guó)際性的熱門學(xué)科，坐擁地理優(yōu)勢(shì)的蘭州大學(xué)敦煌學(xué)研究所儼然成為海內(nèi)外高校學(xué)者研究的國(guó)際平臺(tái)。

Lanzhou (CNS) -- The Institute of Dunhuang Studies at Lanzhou University serves as a comprehensive platform to promote exchanges and cooperation with foreign counterparts from the US, Japan, Russia, the UK, France and others, Zheng Binglin, director of the institute, said Thursday.

The study of Dunhuang, a major stop on the ancient Silk Road, has developed into an independent field of research since the Mogao Caves were discovered in Gansu Province at the beginning of the 20th century.

We invariably make efforts to invite foreign experts, scholars and students to our institute to introduce different perspectives and ideas, said Deng.

In August, the institute invited Professor TAKATA Tokio from the University of Kyoto to be a guest lecturer.
