Guangxi cops crack down hard on pyramid schemes

廣西壯族自治區(qū)公安廳28日通報，在為期8個月的打擊傳銷犯罪專項行動中，當?shù)鼐�方共破獲傳銷犯罪案件1438起，打擊處理傳銷違法犯罪分子4842人。

Nanning (CNS) – A total of 1,438 pyramid schemes have been stopped and 4,842 offenders have been detained during an 8-month sweep, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's Public Security Department said Tuesday.

The biggest scheme involved more than 6,000 sellers and was taken down in April in Nanning, the regional capital. 756 suspects were caught and 104 organizers were arrested, according to local authorities.

In June, police in the prefecture-level city of Laibin cracked the first online pyramid scheme involving 40 million yuan. 11 people were arrested.
