香港交易所22日宣布，將于9月17日推出人民幣貨幣期貨。據悉，這只美元兌換人民幣的期貨合約將會是全球首只人民幣可交收貨幣期貨合約。
Hong Kong (CNS) -- The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK) said Wednesday that it plans to offer trading in Chinese currency futures from September 17.
The contracts will require sellers to deliver US dollars and receive payments from buyers in renminbi (RMB), the official Chinese currency. The dollar-versus-RMB contracts will be the world's first deliverable RMB Currency Futures.
According to SEHK chief executive Charles Li Xiaojia, it's an important part of the strategy to offer a wide range of RMB-related products, support RMB internationalization and further develop Hong Kong as an offshore RMB center.
