China slightly increases US debt holdings

美國(guó)財(cái)政部15日公布的數(shù)據(jù)顯示，6月份中國(guó)小幅增持了3億美元的美國(guó)國(guó)債，在過去一年總體呈減持趨勢(shì)。

Washington (CNS) -- China bought $300 million worth of Treasury securities in June, increasing its total US debt holdings to $1.16 trillion, according to statistics released Wednesday by the US Treasury Department.

Japan, the second-largest buyer of Treasuries, boosted its holdings to $1.12 trillion.

Experts say demand for US debt is rising partly because investors are nervous about the European debt crisis.
