中國3G電話用戶達到1.76億戶 寬帶提速進展順利

中國工業和信息化部新聞發言人張峰25日在北京透露，截至2012年6月底，中國電話用戶已突破13.35億戶，其中3G電話用戶達1.76億戶。

Beijing (CNS) -- As of June 31, China is home to nearly 1.34 billion phone users, of which 176 million people use 3G phones, said Zhang Feng, spokesman of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Wednesday.

China has made new progress in information highway use in the first half year of 2012, seeing a growth of 18 million fiber optic users, Zhang added.

Bandwidth consumers using of 4M and above accounted for 54 percent of the total users as of June 31 as well, 14 percent more than at the end of 2011.

Accelerating the speed of bandwidth coverage is a long haul, and the ministry will put more emphasis on pushing enterprises to improve bandwidth services, guiding the internet industry to optimize service design, and educating the public in the skills of increasing network speed, said Zhang.
