24日凌晨，臥龍中國保護(hù)大熊貓研究中心大熊貓“水秀”在雅安碧峰峽基地產(chǎn)下一對雙胞胎熊貓寶寶。目前，今年國內(nèi)圈養(yǎng)大熊貓已產(chǎn)3胎5仔，均出自臥龍研究中心。
Ya'an (CNS) -- Twins were born to the giant panda Shuixiu at the Wolong Panda Centre within the Wolong Nature Reserve in Sichuan Province in the early morning hours of July 24. The center has seen five new cubs born this year.
Shui Xiu was rescued in the wild of Beichuan County in 2003, and delivered a set of twins at the beginning of 2010. This is her second birth.
As the giant panda usually has no energy to take of two cubs at the same time, one was taken away to be raised in a more artificial environment during this early period of intensive care. However, caregivers will exchange the twins periodically to make sure each spends time in its mother's arms and has a chance to benefit from breast feeding.
