Shanghai (CNS) -- The state of Alaska has turned its attention to the Chinese market despite the vast and intervening Pacific Ocean. The Alaska Seafood Association (ASA) appeared on China's online shopping websites on July 20, offering a range of products to satisfy Chinese appetites.
"Our association has been working hard to bring more seafood products to the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong ever since 1997," said Yao Jun, a representative of the ASA.
In 2011, seafood products valued at US$ one billion were introduced to China by ASA, 51 percent more than the slate set up for 2010. China slid in behind Japan to become Alaska's second largest import country.
