Taiwan banks cooperate closely with Suzhou   

蘇臺金融合作提速 4家臺資銀行落戶蘇州

臺灣最大的企業貸款機構——兆豐國際商業銀行在蘇州開設的分行16日開業。這是兆豐國際銀行在中國大陸設立的首家分行。至此，目前在大陸獲準設立分行的10家臺資銀行中，已有4家落戶蘇州。

Suzhou (CNS) -- Taiwan's largest corporate lending institution Mega International Commercial Bank opened its first mainland branch in Suzhou on Monday. This is the fourth Taiwan bank to set up in Suzhou, and the 10th on the mainland.

The Chang Hwa Bank pioneered the trend in 2002 by opening a branch office in Kunshan, Suzhou; its Kunshan office was launched at the end of 2010.

The first mainland sub company of the Industrial Bank of Taiwan entered the Suzhou Industrial Park on June 7, 2011. The First Commercial Bank also located its FCB Leasing Co. in Suzhou.

Mega's Suzhou operation will be funded by one billion yuan (US$156.89 million) , confirmed Chairman McKinney Tsai. The new branch is a nod to the city's strengthening financial industry, expected to be a significant aspect of Suzhou's industrial reforms, commented an official.

Suzhou now houses 9,719 Taiwan companies.
