Rainstorms cause economic loss of 300 mln yuan  

重慶強(qiáng)降雨致34萬(wàn)人受災(zāi) 直接經(jīng)濟(jì)損失超3億

記者5日從重慶市防汛抗旱指揮部獲悉，3日至4日的大范圍暴雨致使重慶160余個(gè)鄉(xiāng)鎮(zhèn)34萬(wàn)余人、近萬(wàn)公頃農(nóng)作物受災(zāi)，直接經(jīng)濟(jì)損失超過(guò)3億元人民幣，其中水利工程直接損失近億元。

Chongqing (CNS) -- Heavy rainstorms from July 3 to 4 affected 340,000 people in more than 160 villages and towns of Chongqing City, and 10,000 hectares of farmland, according to the local authority on July 5.

The downpours caused a direct economic loss of 300 million yuan, and water conservancy projects are burdened with one third of the loss.

According to the local weather bureau, heavy rain or rainstorms took place in areas north of and along the Yangtze River on July 3 and 4. As of 8 a.m. July 5, the average rainfall amount in 12 counties reached 50 to 99.9 mm, and the maximum rainfall exceeded 170 mm.
