Dandong (CNS) -- A massive drill with multiple purposes, those of anti-terrorism, fire control and life saving, was conducted by local authorities in Dandong City, Liaoning Province on the waters of the Yalu River near the Sino-DPRK border on Thursday.
The simulation of an attack started at 10:10 am with a report of 'terrorists' hijacking a vessel on the Yalu River.
The Department of Public Security's Local Maritime Safety Administration immediately sent a special team to the site to head up the response. Law enforcement officers carried out negotiations with the 'terrorists' while a group of their peers secretly boarded the vessel and neutralized the group.
The drill concluded successfully at 11:10 am.
