Guangdong to subsidize critically ill rural children   

廣東百萬公益金補助農村先心病白血病兒童

廣東省衛生廳2日通報，該省已安排省級彩票專項公益金100萬元人民幣，用于廣東的“兒童白血病、先心病等重大疾病救治”項目，按照相關方案，初步預計將有75名農村的先心病、白血病兒童受益。

Guangzhou (CNS) -- Guangdong's Department of Health announced Monday that it will pay for the treatment of 75 rural children with congenital heart disease or leukemia through a subsidy of one million yuan (US$157,520).

Three fifths of the fund, to be collected by lottery, will be allocated for treatment of 55 children with congenital heart disease. The rest will go to 20 others with leukemia.

Patients can apply for the fund through the local health authorities and choose their own hospitals.
