Beijing (CNS) -- The Chinese naval vessel Zhenghe has been on its round-the-world goodwill voyage since April 16, and naval training for the foreign and Chinese students on board is taking place in the choppy North Atlantic seas on the afternoon of June 17.
After winding up its visit to Spain on June 15, the vessel began its journey across the Atlantic just in time for hurricane season. The vessel suffered strong northwest winds of six to seven grades, and three-meter high waves.
The students stuck to their sailing tasks despite the inevitable seasickness. "The storm not only exercised our navigation skills but also tested our endurance," said naval student Zhang Hong.
"If you're a sailor, even when you feel sick, you should fulfill the task and stick to your post, said Ye Xia (Chinese name), a female student from the US.
