Tropical cyclone Talim approaches Guangdong, Fujian   

“泰利”迫近粵閩沿海 臺粵閩浙瓊局地大暴雨

熱帶風暴“泰利”裹風攜雨正在向中國粵閩一帶沿海靠近。中央氣象臺預計，“泰利”將于19日夜到20日白天擦過或登陸廣東東部到福建南部一帶沿海地區。并將在中國華南、江南等地沿海掀起強風暴雨。

Beijing (CNS) -- Tropical cyclone Talim is expected to arrive at the coastline of Guangdong and Fujian sometime Tuesday evening or Wednesday daytime, the National Meteorological Center warns. Fierce winds and heavy rainfall are expected in south China and the regions south of the Yangtze River.

Downpours will hit most parts of Hainan Island, Guangdong, Fujian, southern Zhejiang, and Taiwan.

So far, all passenger ships unable to resist eight on the Beaufort wind force scale have been halted in Qiongzhou Strait.

Experts warn that torrential floods, flows of debris, and landslides may occur in Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian, Taiwan, Zhejiang and Jiangxi.
