Shenzhen (CNS) -- Two projects involving genomic sequencing and epigenetic inheritance analysis of cardiomyocytes and hepatic cells were launched on Tuesday, in order to promote the application of stem cell detection methods for drug inventions and toxicity tests.
The Beijing Genomics Institute and GE Healthcare Worldwide signed a cooperation agreement and plan for the two hi-tech projects.
The results are likely to lower the invention costs of safer classes of drugs by means of distinguishing predictable genomic cell models, said Dr. Amr Abid with the GE Healthcare.
