Xi'an (CNS) -- Graduates at the University of Science and Technology of Hunan initiated a campaign to speak out about the things they most regret about their life in college. The wave of confessionals has since swept the country among the batch of graduates born mostly in the 1990s.
The young adults write their 'regrets' on paper, take photos of the 'imperfections' and post them online. The look back at student life has gone viral, a phenomenon that has earned the understanding and support of most teachers and parents.
Matters related to study, love affairs, and social experiences top the lists of things they regret. The exercise has become one of gentle self ridicule and a way to preserve their best memories of college.
"If I could start all over, I would leave with fewer regrets," said some graduates. Youth itself is immature and imperfect, and young people learn from their regrets in youth, commented Shaanxi Normal University lecturer in psychology, Li Ying.
