Panda taxis make London debut   

中國四川成都“大熊貓出租車”亮相倫敦

在倫敦奧運(yùn)會(huì)即將舉行之際，中國四川成都“大熊貓出租車跑奧運(yùn)”活動(dòng)6月1日在倫敦拉開帷幕。一批英國最具代表性的黑色出租車被噴繪成中國大熊貓的圖案，出現(xiàn)在倫敦各大標(biāo)志性建筑旁，開始為倫敦市民和游客提供服務(wù)。

London (CNS) -- A batch of London's famous black taxis, repainted to sport a panda pattern, are whisking the public past the city's iconic architecture these days.

The panda taxi is the brain child of the western Chinese city of Chendu, designed for the upcoming Olympics and scheduled to burn rubber for three months starting June 1.

The panda images were designed by global netizens on Facebook, Twitter and Weibo.

The program aims to raise public awareness of protecting pandas and other extinguished species.

The Chengdu International Culture Association sponsored this panda partnership program to promote bilateral exchanges on science, education and culture.
