Guiyang (CNS) -- Torrential rains buffeted Guizhou Province from Monday morning till Tuesday morning, affecting 247,900 residents across 147 towns in six cities, damaging 88 dwellings and creating economic losses amounting to 62.14 million yuan (US$9.83 million), according to the Provincial Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters yesterday.

Guiguo in Zhijin Township and Banqiao in Pan County were hit the hardest, recording rainfall levels at 212.3 mm and 208 mm respectively. Water levels of all rivers in the province rose, yet remained under warning lines.
