More US states seek Chinese investors

Guangzhou (CNS) -- Illinois is home to the largest industrial product market in the US, said Li Lemin, secretary of Far East Bureau of Illinois, during their promotion journey in Guangzhou on Tuesday.

In recent years, more and more local authorities in the U.S. have made an effort to attract Chinese investors to stimulate their local economy and create more employment opportunities.

Officials of Illinois, including lawyers, accountants and other experts, gave a thorough introduction to the investment environment in their State at a special meeting on Tuesday in Guangzhou.

Li said at present Illinois is home to over one hundred Chinese enterprises involving a variety of sectors, including energy, machinery, spare parts and home assembly.

The U.S. states of Georgia, Arkansas, California and Indiana are successively scheduled to visit Guangzhou and promote their regions, said Brian Goldbeck, the US Consul General in Guangzhou.
