Chinese companies favor US-style school buses

Changsha (CNS) – A number of bright yellow American-style school buses made by Chinese companies were on display at an exhibition of buses and commercial vehicles in Changsha, Hunan Province, on Thursday.

In the wake of a number of deadly school bus accidents, student passenger safety has reached the forefront of the national consciousness, causing many Chinese bus companies to become fans of American-designed school buses with "big noses."

A dozen Chinese companies including Zhengzhou Yutong Group, Suzhou Jinlong Group and Naveco all promoted such buses at the expo.

Zhengzhou Yutong brought a bus with an "intelligent management system" that monitors the number of passengers and driver behavior, while Suzhou Jinlong has installed a G-BOS smart operation system into the cabs of its buses to curb dangerous behavior by drivers.
