Ceramics exporters respond to EU anti-dumping probe

Chaozhou (CNS) -- Ceramics companies in Chaozhou, south China's Guangdong Province will suffer severely from the anti-dumping probe held by the European Commission, but these local companies also account for about one third of the entire country's ceramics exports.

The 204 local ceramics companies will coordinate group action against any negative outcome by the probe, an official in charge of the city's foreign trade remarked on Saturday.

The EU decided to impose a punishing 73 percent tax on Chinese ceramics last year, so this is the second frustration exporters have encountered.

The local ceramics association has led its firms into an alliance specifically to cope with the EU anti-dumping probe, by inviting legal experts to give training courses, updating involved companies about the latest developments, and encouraging firms to plea for themselves.
