Shenzhen (CNS) -- The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station in southern China's Guangdong Province announced on Wednesday its commitment to timely public releases of information on the functioning of the facilty, after a recent "zero-level" accident. A "zero level" incident is a category in IAEA standards, which is regarded as "no safety concerns."

In September of 2011, the nuclear station compiled and issued China's first nuclear safety report regulations which safeguard the public's right to information about the likelihood of radiation - disclosures meant to dispense with unnecessary worries.

The next practical step was China's first nuclear and radiation information platform, launched in December. Information on operational occurrences, radiation protection and industrial safety have been accessible to the public through the Internet.
