Chengdu (CNS) -- The Museum of Jinsha Relics in Chengdu, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province and home of the ancient Shu Civilization, opened an exhibition themed "Treasures of Yin (or Shang) Dynasty (c.1600–1046BC) Ruins" on Wednesday.

The 136 cultural relics are being displayed publically for the first time, and were unearthed from Yin ruins located in Anyang of central China's Henan Province through 60 years of effort by dedicated Chinese archaeologists.

The Yin (or Shang) Civilization featured inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells which modern Chinese derives from, as well as dozens of customs and traditions passed on to the current age.

Organizers hope the event will create an opportunity for people to compare and contemplate the glorious civilizations that have characterized China's long history.

The second largest Ding (an ancient cooking vessel made of bronze) ever found in China, which belonged to a wife of Shang Emperor Wuding, stands at the entrance of the exhibition hall, followed by a tomb of a nobleman and his carriage, which displays the burial system used three millennia ago.
