Construction of Chinese Air Bus C919 underway

Nanchang (CNS) – Forebody construction of the Chinese designed Air Bus C919 started on December 29 in Nanchang, capital of East China's Jiangxi province.

The C919 is the second brand of air bus independently designed in China, a project which started in November 2008 and was experted to be completed by the end of 2013. An exhibition of the C919 prototype made a splash in March this year but it will not be put into use until 2016.

The construction of the passenger jet is a milestone in China's research and manufacturing of airliners. Hongdu Aviation Industry Group is the supplier responsible for producing the forebody and other key parts of the plane. The group's general manager said all procedures for producing the plane are well-established.
