Beijing (CNS) – A survey of bankers sponsored by the People's Bank of China and the National Bureau of Statistics shows the macroeconomic heat index that their optimism and confidence in China's economic health is maintained by only 48 percent, the lowest showing on record for two years.
Another survey points out the index for entrepreneurs has been under 50 percent for the past two quarters. This macroeconomic heat index is regarded as a barometer of China's economy.
The proposition that the current macro-economy is in a slump was chosen by 23.6 percent of surveyed bankers, an increase of 11.8 percent in that group compared to last quarter. About 25 percent of entrepreneurs surveyed hold the same view.
But 60 percent of participants agreed with the statement that China's macroeconomic growth will return to a much more reasonable pace next year. The number of bankers who speculated a looser monetary policy will come into effect next year has risen to 14.4 percent.
