Taiyuan (CNS) – A bottle of liquor was auctioned on Wednesday, going for a price of 790,000 yuan. The liquor was cellared for more than 100 years by its Chinese producer Fen Jiu.
"The auction of a long-cellared bottle is an excellent way to promote our brand", said Liu Jingan, director of Shangxi Fen Jiu Group's Development and Research Center.
Twenty bottles of Fen Jiu liquor worth 30.76 million yuan were auctioned in Beijing in September 2010, one featured bottle going for 2.09 million yuan, the highest amount ever offered. Fen Jiu also became the major liquor provider for China's Classical Liquor Auction in north China's Shanxi province in July this year.
