    Chinese women listed among Forbes' most powerful

    San Francisco (CNS) -- The newly-released 2011 Forbes Most Powerful Women list has awarded six places to those of Chinese origin.

    The top three seats were given to leaders in the political arena: German Chancellor Angela Merkel tops the list, followed by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

    Last year's champion, American First Lady Michelle Obama, fell to eighth place.

    52-year-old Cher Wang from Taiwan, cofounder and chair of the HTC, leads all six Chinese in 20th place.

    Ranked respectively at 33, 48, 64, 68 and 72 are 70-year-old Billionaire Chan Laiwa, chair of Fu Wah International Group; 46-year-old Zhang Xin, cofounder and CEO of SOHO China; 53-year-old Andrea Jung, CEO of Avon; 64-year-old Margaret Chan, DG at the WTO; and 58-year-old Ho Ching, CEO of Temasek Holdings.

    According to Forbes, the list was created from among 200 candidates, all of whom are billionaires or come from the business, lifestyle, media, non-profit or political fields.

    The youngest most powerful woman listed is 25-year-old American entertainer Lady Gaga. Distinguished British Queen Elizabeth II is the eldest.
