Beijing (CNS)--China's economy is still booming and there is no possibility of a hard landing, an official from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Monday, according to China News Services (CNS).

Pan Jiancheng, deputy director-general of the China Economic Monitoring & Analysis Center at the NBS, analyzed China's economic situations from three aspects: investments, consumer spending, and exports.

Pan said that inflation control is just one side of the government's s macro-control policies, which are aimed at the economic transition. He said China's economy is still booming even though growth has slowed down.

"Factors such as the stable monetary policy, energy conservation and emissions reduction, and the elimination of outdated industrial capacity may restrain the nation's investments this year, but it could also be stimulated by the construction of public housing, the development of emerging industries, and irrigation works," Pan said.

Pan expected that consumer spending will see a stable growth in 2011, but the country's exports may fall. He also said the inflation, which was mainly caused by rising food prices, would not last long. The CPI pressure will be relaxed in the second half of this year, he said.
