The coronavirus pandemic is changing the way we do things and that includes how students are learning. Entire degree programs have shifted online, as restrictions limit on-campus teaching. At China's upcoming International Fair for Trade in Services, the education industry is one of eight featured sectors. The focus this year will be on the role of new technologies in teaching and learning.

China's 2020 International Fair for Trade in Services begins early next month in Beijing and it'll be delivered in two parts: An online forum and an offline exhibition. The latter will cover a total area of 1,650 square meters and is divided into four sections: International educational exchange, Chinese and foreign cooperation in running schools, overseas study services and online education.

Huang Kan, first-level inspector of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission said: "So far, forty exhibitors have been confirmed to participate in offline exhibitions and seventy exhibitors have joined the online exhibitions of educational services. In terms of the content on display, the rate of internationalization has reached more than 60 percent."

In addition, a number of institutions helping set up the online booth say they'll be exhibiting some of the most cutting-edge products in the field of education. That includes China's Ministry of Education which will be exhibiting an overseas study service center. It promises to feature Internet-plus, and an innovative new platform designed for overseas students.

The Deputy Director of the Overseas Study Service Center of the Ministry of Education of China Ai Hongge stated that the platform was open on August 19, 2019 and is aimed at overseas students. Its aim is to achieve an 'all-online, one-network-enabled operation.

Chinese information technology company iFLYtek has played a leading role in developing the platform. The company says it's committed to the deep integration of artificial intelligence with education and teaching.

The Vice President of iFLYtek Zhou Jiafeng introduced that this platform provides scene-based learning resources for 1,000 sentences in Chinese, covering many daily scenes, so as to promote the popularization of Chinese learning.

As the coronavirus pandemic upends study plans across the world, both educators and students are increasingly drawing on new technologies to deliver comprehensive learning experiences. And iFLYtek, a well-known industry leader in the Asia-Pacific region will be hoping to steal the show through its new AI driven platform and service.
