Baidu intends to build a demonstration zone for the autonomous car industry in Xiongan New Area in North China's Hebei Province, media reports said on Sunday.
Xiongan New Area aims to support information-based technology to achieve breakthroughs, the paper.cn reported on Sunday.
Chen Gang, director of the Xiongan New Area administrative committee, said that the area will focus mainly on smart and public transportation, with autonomous private cars as the personalized option.
