Chinese car-hailing company Didi Chuxing and the UN Development Program (UNDP) launched a cooperative project on Thursday that will provide accessible chauffeured car services for people in need including individuals with disabilities in China.
The cars are modified multi-purpose vehicles that will provide more space with adjustable seats and doors, according to an e-mail Didi sent to the Global Times on Thursday. Didi and the UNDP have arranged customized training for the drivers.
Didi had 20 million rides on its platform on a daily basis as of October 2016, the e-mail noted.
