The China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC) will soon dispatch an inspection team to Anbang Insurance Group, financial news portal caixin.com reported on Monday.
The purpose of the inspection is to learn the real situation at the insurance company, which has been making high-profile acquisitions in China and abroad over the past years.
Last month, Anbang purchased the South Korean operations of Germany's Allianz SE for about $3 million.
