The WHO's Assistant Director General Bruce Aylward said that the organization has received no reports of Zika infections from China yet.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lu Kang said the country has been watching the outbreak closely and has issued health warnings to its citizens. He also said China will work with Latin America to contain the virus.

Meanwhile, health departments in south China's Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have held meetings to discuss the potential risks of an outbreak, and have advised residents to take precautionary measures.
