U.S.-based car-hailing services provider Uber Technologies Inc joined with real estate developers including Fantasia Holdings Group Co and China Vanke Co as it launched 50 passenger depots on Wednesday in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province.
The UberSTATIONs will help Uber drivers match up with passengers. The terminals cover about 20 of the companies' residential developments, according to an announcement Uber sent to the Global Times on Wednesday.
Uber will use Chinese partner Baidu Technologies Inc's map services at those stations, aiming to offer a better user experience, the announcement noted.
Users will scan 2D codes displayed at the stations to hail a car.
