E-commerce giant Alibaba Group Holding fired back to its smaller rival JD.com Inc after the latter filed a report to the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) Tuesday to accuse it of "violating market order" in the e-commerce sector.
JD.com Inc said in its report to the SAIC that some vendors complained that Alibaba has restricted their freedom in taking part in sales promotion events in the run-up to the November 11 online shopping festival on other online shopping platforms. Punishments by Alibaba include downsized web traffic, JD.com Inc said.
Alibaba responded Tuesday night in an e-mailed statement to the Global Times that it will let consumers be the judge and continue to drive its advantage in offering low-price goods.
